Root Digger Herb Farm
Baby Ginger (FRESH)

Fresh and undried.
Hand harvested Baby Ginger (Zengiber officinale) rhizome.
Baby Ginger packs a potent punch but lacks the stringy fiber and papery skin of second year rhizomes. You can slice young ginger right into broth and eat like a vegetable (a spicy one) or enjoy easy grating or chopping. Store in the fridge in a sealed container. The ginger leaf and stem are fibrous but flavorful. Add them whole to broths or cut them up for tea. However you consume them, we recommend you split the stem lengthwise first, especially if you're drying them.
All fresh herbs are available picked up from the farm by appointment or from the West Central Farmer's Market on the third Saturday of the month. Please provide your phone number to verify and coordinate local pick-up or delivery. Our Milky Oats and roots are also available shipped.
